As a non-profit organization, we rely heavily on donations and other fundraising efforts to enable our activities. Among its earlier credits, the Foundation has:

  • Aided in voter registration drives;
  • Assisted the New Rochelle-White Plains Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi with initiating a Kappa Youth Development League (Kappa League) serving Westchester and Rockland Counties for young men of color;
  • The foundation maintains a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status to aid in our scholarship fundraising activities.

OurOpportunities

The Lower Hudson Valley Diamond Foundation (the “Foundation”) and the New Rochelle-White Plains (NY) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. have awarded financial scholarships to graduating high school students seeking to further their educational pursuits for over 40 years. The Foundation serves as the not-for-profit/philanthropic entity of the New Rochelle-White Plains Alumni Chapter. This scholarship opportunity will be awarded to recipients each year, for (4) four successive years, as long as the recipient satisfies the requirements and the academic standards set by the Foundation. When selecting awardees, the Foundation will take into consideration financial need, academic performance, involvement in the school community, and involvement in the community at large.
